250 kW at 690 V — normal and heavy duty ratings
The ATV6A0C25Q6 is a modular Altivar Process ATV600 drive rated 250 kW at 690 V in normal duty and 200 kW at 690 V in heavy duty. The heavy-duty rating gives the thermal headroom for constant-torque loads like conveyors or extruders; normal duty covers variable-torque pumps and fans where the overload margin is lower. Line current at 690 V is 255 A normal duty, 211 A heavy duty — this sets the minimum conductor ampacity and fuse rating for the branch circuit. The prospective line Isc is 50 kA, so the upstream protection must coordinate at or above that SCCR ceiling.
STO SIL 3 and safety integration
The drive also supports motor thermal protection, motor phase break detection, and overcurrent/overvoltage/undervoltage protection on the line and DC bus sides.
Fieldbus slots and communication options
Slot A accepts plug-in communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (with RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), plus digital/analog I/O and relay extension modules. The base unit also carries dual-port Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP at 10/100 Mbit/s and a 2-wire RS 485 Modbus serial port with RTU framing.
EMC filter and installation environment
The integrated EMC filter supports 300 m motor cable runs and meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 — intended for industrial environments with a separate mains transformer, not residential or public low-voltage networks. The drive is cabinet-mount with UL type 1 or type 12 enclosure integration, pollution degree 2, and forced convection cooling.
