Drive at a glance – integrator first look
This ATV6B0C20N6 is the 132 kW normal duty / 110 kW heavy duty variant of the Altivar Process ATV600 series, rated at 500 V supply. Line current pulls 169 A in normal duty, 141 A in heavy duty. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for 300 m shielded cable runs – no external filter needed in most industrial panel installations. Safe Torque Off (STO) to SIL 3 is included on the control board, which simplifies safety circuit design for machinery.
Mounting, cooling, and connections
The modular design includes Slot A for fieldbus option cards – Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen in three physical variants. Slot A/B also accepts digital/analog I/O or output relay extension modules. This means you can lock in the exact communication interface without buying a whole new drive variant.
Compliance and lifecycle – sourcing note
THDI is less than 5% at full load per IEEE 519 – the integrated EMC filter and line reactor design keeps harmonics under that threshold without extra hardware for most applications. Prospective line short-circuit current 50 kA.
Communication and control
Two-wire RS-485 Modbus serial on the control board, with RTU frame, configurable parity and 1–247 addresses. Ethernet (10/100 Mbit/s) is native for Modbus TCP with half/full duplex autonegotiation. Switching frequency adjustable 2–4.9 kHz with derating above base. Motor types: asynchronous and synchronous – the ATV600 Process line handles permanent magnet motors as well as induction. Protection list covers thermal, overcurrent, earth fault, overspeed, phase loss, DC bus overvoltage/undervoltage, and break on control circuit. The thermal model protects both motor and drive separately.
