Drive ratings and duty
The ATV6B0C25Q4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV600 drive from Schneider, rated 250 kW at 400 V in normal duty and 200 kW in heavy duty, with a built-in EMC filter complying with IEC 61800-3 category C3 for up to 300 m shielded motor cable. Line current sits at 389 A normal duty, 313 A heavy duty at 400 V, giving you a realistic sizing number for breaker and cabling decisions — the heavy-duty figure is the one to use for pump starts with high inertia. Total harmonic current distortion is guaranteed below 5% at full load per IEEE 519, which keeps you off the utility's radar for THD penalties on larger installations.
Integrated EMC and field wiring
The built-in C3 filter handles 300 m of shielded cable without an external output reactor — that covers the typical rise main distance to a submersible pump. No extra cabinet space needed for a filter board. Line-side connection uses screw terminals; motor connection uses M10 bars. That lets you land field wiring with standard tools, no special crimps. Forced convection cooling dissipates 10170 W at normal duty and 8040 W at heavy duty, both at 2.5 kHz switching. Account for this heat in cabinet ventilation.
Safety and communication options
Safe torque off is integrated to SIL3 — that covers the functional safety requirement for a wet-well pump station without an external safety relay. It's monitored internally for motor phase break and overspeed. Dual communication slots: Slot A accepts Profibus DP, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen (daisy chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slot A/B takes digital/analog I/O or relay extension modules. That's one slot for the plant network, one for local I/O. Built-in Modbus serial (RS-485, RTU, 1…247 addresses) and Modbus TCP (10/100 Mbit) come standard. For existing water SCADA over Modbus, you don't need an extra gateway.
The drive ships as a kit: control unit, power module (160 kW basic frame), mounting hardware, a set of fuses, and front cover. The modular variant means the power section and control section are separated for easier panel layout and service swap. Compliance documentation on file covers IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and ISO 13849-1. CE marking is on the nameplate.
