Sizing and duty
The ATV9A0C80Q4: Normal duty delivers 800 kW at 400 V with 925 kVA apparent power; heavy duty drops to 630 kW and 735 kVA. The switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 8 kHz with derating — the default 2.5 kHz gives full rated current. Prospective line short-circuit current is 50 kA, so the drive can be installed on high-capacity distribution without additional upstream limiting.
Control and safety
The control supply is 24 V DC for digital inputs (19…30 V range) and a separate 24 V DC rail (21…27 V) for STO and digital input power. An internal 10.5 V DC reference is provided for a 1 to 10 kΩ potentiometer. The drive carries CE marking and complies with IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1.
Fieldbus and I/O expansion
The control block has two RJ45 ports for Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP (10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex, autonegotiation) and one RJ45 for Modbus serial (RTU, 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, 2-wire RS-485). Slot A accepts Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, or CANopen modules. Slots A, B, and C accept digital/analog I/O extension or output relay modules; slot B also takes 5/12 V digital encoder, analog encoder, or resolver interface modules. This means the drive can be configured for multi-protocol control cabinets without a separate gateway.
