The ATV9A0M12N6 is an active-production Altivar Process ATV900 drive rated for 800 kW at 600 V normal duty (710 kW heavy duty). It drives synchronous or asynchronous motors and ships as a modular version: control unit, power module, mounting kit, fuses, and front cover. The integrated EMC filter meets Category C3 for cable runs up to 984.3 ft (300 m) — no external filter needed for most industrial installations. That eliminates the external safety relay and simplifies wiring for emergency-stop circuits that need to hold takt time without added latency.
This is a current-production unit (lifecycle stage: current). It carries CE marking and complies with IEC 61800-3 (EMC), IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61000-3-12 (harmonics), IEC 60721-3 (environmental conditions), IEC 61508 / IEC 13849-1 (functional safety), and UL 61800-5-1. No last-time-buy or obsolescence watch needed for new designs or spares. Prospective line short-circuit current is rated 50 kA, so the drive handles high-fault-capacity panels without external current-limiting fuses in most distributions.
Integration notes
Cabinet-mount design, IP00 enclosure intended for integration into IP21 or IP54 cabinets. Cooling is forced convection — plan for airflow clearance around the power module. Line-side connection uses M10 screw terminals; motor connections via M10 bars. Control wiring uses removable screw terminals accepting 0.5–1.5 mm² (AWG 20–16). Communication flexibility: on-board Modbus serial RS-485 (2-wire, RTU frame) and Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP at 10/100 Mbit/s. Slot A accepts plug-in modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, or CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slots A, B, and C also support digital/analog I/O and relay extension modules. Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 4.9 kHz with derating factor; fine for pump, fan, conveyor and general motor control. THDI stays below 48 % from 80 to 100 % load.
