Drive ratings and duty selection
The ATV9B0C25T6 is a modular Altivar Process ATV900 drive sized for 250 hp at 600 V normal duty and 200 hp at 600 V heavy duty. Line current at 600 V runs 199 A normal duty, 160 A heavy duty, with regenerative-mode ratings of 162 A and 129 A respectively. Apparent power follows: 207 kVA normal, 166 kVA heavy.
Control supply and safety
Digital inputs and STO take a 24 V DC supply (21...27 V). There is a separate 10.5 V DC reference output for a 1 to 10 kOhm potentiometer, and the external digital input supply is 24 V DC (19...30 V). The STO function is rated SIL 3 — that is a certified safe torque off, not just a software inhibit. If you are wiring a safety relay or PLC safety output, the 24 V DC STO supply must be kept separate from the control logic supply to maintain isolation.
Fieldbus and I/O options
Slot A accepts communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), or EtherCAT. Slots A, B, and C also take digital/analog I/O extension modules and output relay extension modules. Slot B handles encoder interfaces (5/12 V digital, analog, or resolver). The drive ships with dual RJ45 Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP ports and one RJ45 Modbus serial port; Modbus serial runs RTU at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, 8-bit configurable parity. For a new line, pick the fieldbus card early — the slot assignment determines which options coexist.
EMC and environment
Integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for 300 m cable runs. The drive is cabinet-mount only, rated IP00 for integration into IP21 or IP54 enclosures. Operating altitude is 0 to 2000 m with derating above 1000 m; ambient humidity 5 to 95% non-condensing. Switching frequency is adjustable 2 to 4.9 kHz with derating — lower switching frequency reduces heat and extends cable length, higher reduces motor noise.
