The C063H3FM is the basic frame for the Schneider Electric ComPacT NS630b new generation range — a 3-pole, fixed-mounted, manually operated air circuit breaker frame rated 630 A at 50 °C. It ships without a protection unit or trip block, so the buyer selects a separate electronic or micrologic trip unit to complete the breaker. The H breaking-capacity code delivers 70 kA Icu at 415 V AC, 50/60 Hz, per IEC 60947-2.
The Icu (ultimate breaking capacity) follows a voltage-dependent curve: 85 kA at 240 V AC, 70 kA at 415 V, 65 kA at 440 V, 50 kA at 525 V, and 42 kA at 690 V AC. The Ics (service breaking capacity) — the level the breaker can clear and still be used again — is 50 kA at 240/415/440 V, 40 kA at 525 V, and 30 kA at 690 V. For a 415 V distribution board with a prospective fault current of, say, 50 kA, the Ics equals the full Icu at that voltage, meaning you get full rated performance without stepping down to a lower-duty frame.
Fixed backplate mount, 210 mm wide × 224 mm high × 147 mm deep, with a 70 mm connection pitch between phase centres. IP40 front face, IK07 impact resistance — suitable for enclosure mounting where the front panel is accessible but not washdown-rated.
What this frame does and does not include
This is a basic frame only: no integral protection, no trip unit, no auxiliary contacts or shunt trip. The suitability-for-isolation marking (yes, per EN/IEC 60947-2) means the open contacts provide a visible air gap that meets safety isolation requirements — useful for lockout/tagout procedures. Mechanical durability is 10 000 cycles; electrical durability varies by voltage and current — 2000 cycles at 690 V In, 5000 cycles at 440 V In.
Designed and tested to IEC 60947-2. Rated insulation voltage 800 V AC, rated impulse withstand 8 kV. Short-time withstand (Icw) 19.2 kA for 1 second. Class II insulation on the front face.
