ComPacT NSX100H with MicroLogic 7.2 E — 40 A, 4P, 100 kA
The Schneider Electric C10H47E040 is a ComPacT NSX100H molded-case circuit breaker with a MicroLogic 7.2 E electronic trip unit, rated 40 A at 40 °C. It is a 4-pole unit (4P) with a breaking capacity of 100 kA Icu at 240 V AC, 70 kA at 415 V, and 65 kA at 480 V, all per IEC 60947-2. The electronic trip unit provides L (long-time overload), S (short-time short-circuit), I (instantaneous), and R (earth-leakage) protection — configurable selectivity for a coordinated distribution system. Mounts on a backplate (mounting support: backplate) in horizontal or vertical orientation, flat on the back. Front connections on both upside and downside simplify bus-bar or cable routing in a panel. The toggle control and LCD display give local status and metering readout without opening the door.
At 415 V (common in European industrial grids) it still holds 70 kA, and at 480 V (North American common) it delivers 65 kA. That puts this in the high-interrupting class for a 40 A frame, giving headroom for most distribution panels without needing upstream fuses. The MicroLogic 7.2 E trip unit is electronic, not thermal-magnetic, so it offers adjustable long-time pickup and delay (L), short-time pickup and delay (S), instantaneous pickup (I), and earth-leakage (R) protection. Overvoltage category IV means it's suitable for the main distribution point (utility entrance or main switchboard), not just downstream sub-panels.
Integration notes
Dimensions: 161 mm height, 140 mm width, 86 mm depth. The 35 mm connection pitch matches standard bus-bar spacing for panelboard integration. Five accessory slots allow adding auxiliary contacts, shunt trips, or communication modules without removing the breaker from the panel. The LCD display provides time-stamped event histories, energy metering, demand current and power values, and maintenance indicators — useful for a facility engineer tracking load profiles without a separate power meter.
