MCCB for distribution panels — 16 A, 50 kA at 415 V
The C10N4TM016C is a 4-pole ComPacT NSX100N MCCB from Schneider Electric's ComPacT range, fitted with a TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit rated 16 A at 50 °C. It breaks 50 kA Icu at 415 V AC (50/60 Hz) per IEC 60947-2, which covers the fault-current capability needed for most commercial and light-industrial distribution boards. The TM-D trip provides L (thermal overload) and I (magnetic short-circuit) protection in a single block — no separate trip unit to source.
At 220/240 V that figure rises to 90 kA Icu; at 690 V it drops to 10 kA Icu.
Mounts flat on a backplate — no DIN-rail adapter. The 140 mm width, 161 mm height, and 86 mm depth fit standard distribution panel cutouts for 4-pole MCCBs. IP40 enclosure protection means it's suited for indoor panels; IK07 impact resistance handles incidental tool contact during commissioning.
Rated for 50,000 mechanical operations and 30,000 electrical cycles at rated current (440 V, In). At half-rated current that doubles to 50,000 electrical cycles. For a distribution breaker seeing infrequent switching (a few operations per month), this translates to decades of service life. The TM-D trip unit is field-replaceable if the thermal or magnetic calibration drifts.
