The Schneider Electric C25W36E250 is a ComPacT NSX moulded-case circuit breaker (MCCB) from the NSX250HB2 family, rated 250 A at 40 °C with a MicroLogic 6.2 E electronic trip unit. It's a 3-pole unit built for distribution applications, with a 100 kA Icu breaking capacity at 690 V AC 50/60 Hz per IEC 60947-2 — that's the fault-clearing rating that tells you it can handle high-fault-current industrial feeds without upstream coordination headaches. The trip unit provides L (long-time overload), S (short-time short-circuit), I (instantaneous), and G (ground-fault) protection, all configurable via the front LCD display and toggle controls.
Communication and metering capability
The MicroLogic 6.2 E trip unit includes an energy meter and communicates power quality data, demand current, instantaneous and demand values, protection and alarm settings, energy metering, maintenance indicators, and time-stamped event histories. That makes it more than a simple overcurrent protector — it feeds panel-level energy data back to a BMS or SCADA system without an external metering module. Five accessory slots are available for additional communication or aux contact modules.
Environmental and installation limits
Operating altitude is 0–2000 m without derating, 2000–5000 m with derating. Relative humidity range is 0–95 %.
Durability and mechanical life
Electrical durability varies with load: 20,000 cycles at 440 V at half rated current, 10,000 cycles at 440 V at full rated current, 10,000 cycles at 690 V at half rated current, and 5,000 cycles at 690 V at full rated current. That's typical for a distribution MCCB — not a switching device for frequent motor starts, but fine for infrequent isolation and fault protection.
