Trip unit for EasyPact NW drawout breakers
The ENW21413 is a Trip System 2.0E microprocessor-based control unit for Schneider Electric EasyPact NW drawout circuit breakers. It provides LI protection — long-time overload and instantaneous short-circuit — with an adjustable trip unit rating from 800 to 4000 A, making it the brains for large industrial power distribution on 690 V AC networks at 50/60 Hz.
Protection settings and coordination
Long-time pickup (Ir) adjusts from 0.4 to 1 x In across nine settings, with a corresponding delay (Tr) adjustable from 0.5 to 24 seconds at 6 x Ir. Instantaneous pickup (Ii) spans 1.5 to 10 x Ir, also in nine steps. This granularity lets you shape the trip curve to the load — motor starts, transformer inrush, or feeder protection — without swapping the unit. Zone selective interlocking (ZSI) is built in, so downstream faults clear at the closest breaker while upstream units hold — reduces arc-flash energy and keeps healthy feeders online. Thermal memory tracks the last 20 minutes of heating and cooling before and after a trip, preventing nuisance reclose on a still-hot conductor.
Drawout mounting and panel integration
The drawout mounting mode means this control unit slides into the EasyPact NW cradle — no hardwiring the trip unit itself. Physical footprint is 200 mm high, 55 mm wide, 75 mm deep. The digital display shows fault type (overload, short-circuit, earth fault, internal fault) and energy metering data, so a panel walk-down reads the event log without a laptop.
