MCCB for distribution duty with earth-leakage built in
The Schneider Electric EZCV250H3160 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker from the EasyPact EZCV250H series, rated 160 A at 40 °C and built for distribution applications. Its TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit handles overload and short-circuit protection, and the unit includes integrated earth-leakage protection — so you get ground-fault detection without a separate add-on module. Breaking capacity hits 100 kA Icu at 220–240 V AC, 36 kA at 380–415 V, and 25 kA at 440 V, all per IEC 60947-2. That 100 kA figure at the common 240 V distribution level means it can sit upstream of a high-fault panel without cascading — useful for a main or feeder breaker in a commercial or light industrial board.
If your panel runs hotter, you derate; the TM-D unit is thermal-magnetic, so the thermal element responds to both current and ambient temperature. At 440 V the Icu drops to 25 kA, which still covers most 400 V distribution. The breaker is Category A (no intentional short-time delay), so it's a fast-acting device — coordination with downstream breakers relies on their instantaneous trip bands, not a delay curve.
Fixed mounting on a backplate — no DIN-rail adapter. IP20 finger-safe protection on the front, IK07 impact rating. Positive contact indication on the toggle gives visual confirmation of contact position — useful during commissioning and troubleshooting.
