At 400 V AC the breaking capacity is still 50 kA Icu, which covers most North American 480Y/277 V and European 400 V distribution panels. The TM-D trip unit provides fixed long-time pickup at 1 In (500 A) and a fixed magnetic instantaneous trip threshold, so there is no field-adjustable thermal or magnetic dial. That simplifies ordering — you get one setting — but means the breaker is not a candidate for systems needing coordination curve tuning. The 5000 kA integral instant protection rating is the maximum prospective short-circuit current the trip element can withstand, not the system SCCR; the system SCCR is governed by the Icu values at the actual system voltage.
Deployment context
Fixed backplate mounting with front-front connections (line and load both front-facing). The 45 mm pole pitch matches standard busbar and cable lug spacing for 500 A class breakers.
