The GC2510B5 is a 1-pole modular contactor from the Schneider TeSys GC series, designed for switching resistive and moderate inductive loads in control panels. Rated for AC-7A (heating, lighting) and AC-7B (motor control) duty, the 25 A thermal current (Ith) covers most small-panel loads like contactor coils, indicator lamps, and fractional-horsepower motors.
Control voltage and coil behaviour
The coil is 24 V AC at 50 Hz, with a pickup range of 0.85 to 1.1 Uc and dropout between 0.2 and 0.75 Uc. That dropout margin is generous — the contactor stays pulled in through a 20 % voltage sag, which is useful on a line with a big motor starting nearby. Inrush is 15 VA at 20 °C; holding dissipation is 1.3 W. If your PLC output drives an AC coil, factor the inrush into the output card's per-channel VA budget. Operate time is 10 to 25 ms opening and 10 to 30 ms closing — fast enough for most sequencing, but not for a safety-rated stop where you need a forced-guided contact block. The mechanical durability of 1,000,000 cycles and electrical durability of 100,000 cycles at AC-7A/AC-7B put it in the standard 'fit-and-forget' range for a panel contactor.
Clip-on DIN rail mounting, 17.5 mm wide, 81 mm tall, 62.5 mm deep. Screw-clamp terminals on both power and control circuits; torque to 0.8 N·m. Power circuit accepts up to 6 mm² flexible with or without ferrule; control circuit takes up to 2.5 mm². The 1-pole layout means line and load connect to the same terminal pair — straightforward for a single-phase switched load. IP20 protection on the body (finger-safe), IP40 when installed in an enclosure per VDE 0106. The white colour is standard for TeSys GC — easy to spot on a rail. Operating altitude up to 3000 m, so it works in high-altitude plants without derating.
