The GC2520E5 is a TeSys GC modular contactor — a 2-pole, 25 A rated device with a 48 V AC 50 Hz coil, designed for clip-on mounting on a DIN rail inside a control panel. It's part of the GC25 family, sold as a set of 12, and intended for lighting, motor control, and heating loads under utilisation categories AC-7A and AC-7B. The 25 A gL fuse recommendation for the power circuit at ≤440 V gives you a straightforward coordination point for branch protection. Coil dropout happens between 0.2 and 0.75 Uc at 50 Hz; pickup is 0.85 to 1.1 Uc at <50 °C.
Clip-on onto a DIN rail, occupies a single 18 mm module width. Screw-clamp terminals on both power and control circuits; tighten to 0.8 N.m. Power circuit accepts up to 6 mm² flexible or solid, control circuit up to 2.5 mm². IP20 finger-safe with VDE 0106 out of the box; IP40 once inside the enclosure. Operating position allows up to 30° from vertical — fine for most panel layouts, but avoid upside-down mounting on a swing frame.
The AC-7A and AC-7B categories under IEC 61095 cover motor loads up to 25 A and resistive/inductive lighting or heating. Electrical durability is rated at 100,000 cycles for both categories — that's roughly 10 years of daily cycling on a lighting contactor. Mechanical durability hits 1,000,000 cycles, so the wear-out mode is contact erosion, not the mechanism. Heat dissipation is 1.3 W at 50/60 Hz coil excitation, plus 1.6 W per pole under load.
