Motor power coverage and trip characteristics
The GV4L07N6: This 7 A frame covers a wide motor power band depending on line voltage: 1.5 kW at 400 V, up to 4 kW at 500 V, and as high as 7.5 kW at 690 V. The magnetic trip threshold is adjustable between 42 and 98 A — that is the short-circuit / instantaneous trip, not the overload. The electronic overload element handles the thermal curve. The utilisation category is AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor starting) per IEC 60947-4-1, which is the standard for direct-on-line motor starting.
Durability and environmental ratings for continuous duty
Rated for continuous duty per IEC 60947-4-1. Electrical durability is 40,000 cycles at AC-3 at 440 V, both at In and at In/2 — that is the number of motor starts before the contacts need replacement. Mechanical durability matches at 40,000 cycles. The maximum operating rate is 25 cycles per hour, so it is sized for a machine that starts a motor every couple of minutes, not a high-speed jogging application. The enclosure is IP40 (finger-safe, no water ingress protection) and IK07 (impact resistance up to 2 J).
Integration into the panel: dimensions, connections, and isolation
Dimensions are 155 mm high, 81 mm wide, and 165 mm deep. The connection pitch is 27 mm without spreaders, 35 mm with spreaders — this matters when laying out multiple breakers on a DIN rail for busbar connection. Terminals accept lugs or ring terminals; tightening torque is 9 N·m for the main power cables (16–95 mm²) and 5 N·m for control wiring (1.5–10 mm²). Operating position is any, and the altitude rating goes to 5000 m, so it works in high-altitude installations without derating.
