What the 115 A rating means for fit
The GV4L115B6 is a 3-pole motor circuit breaker rated at 115 A continuous current, sized for motor loads between 37 kW and 110 kW depending on supply voltage. The 115 A frame is the selection anchor — it determines the upstream contactor and cable sizing, not just the motor full-load amps. Breaking capacity is 50 kA Icu at 240 V AC, 25 kA at 415 V, 20 kA at 440 V, and 10 kA at 500 V.
Motor protection and trip characteristics
Uses magnetic-electronic trip technology with a magnetic tripping range of 690...1610 A. That's the instantaneous short-circuit pickup — adjustable within that band to coordinate with downstream contactors and avoid nuisance trips on motor inrush. Rated for continuous duty per IEC 60947-4-1, so it handles sustained motor loads without derating.
Fire resistance rated at 960 °C per IEC 60695-2-11.
Panel and mounting notes
