What It Is and the Rating That Decides Fit
The Schneider Electric GV4LE07S is a 3-pole motor circuit breaker from the TeSys Deca range, rated 7 A continuous current (In) and built for motor protection duty under EN/IEC 60947-4-1 and EN/IEC 60947-2. The headline number is the 7 A In — that is the continuous current the thermal-magnetic trip allows before overload protection acts. For a 400 V three-phase supply, this breaker covers motor outputs from 1.5 kW up to 3 kW depending on the exact line voltage, and up to 7.5 kW at 690 V. The magnetic trip is set at 42...98 A, so it handles the inrush of a motor up to about 14x FLC without nuisance tripping.
Breaking Capacity — What It Means for Coordination
The short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) is 120 kA at 240 V AC, 100 kA at 415 V, and still 10 kA at 690 V. The Utilisation Category A (IEC 60947-2) confirms it is not intended for selectivity under fault; if you need full discrimination, pair it with a TeSys GV7 or a fuse-switch upstream.
Panel fit: 81 mm wide, 155 mm high, 116 mm deep. Screw terminals on top accept 1.5...70 mm² solid or 1.5...50 mm² flexible; bottom terminals accept up to 95 mm² solid. Tightening torque is 9 N·m for the larger cable range.
