The Schneider Electric TeSys D LA4DFE is an interface amplifier module that sits between a low-level DC control signal and a contactor coil. It accepts a 48 V DC control supply and switches up to 250 V AC on the output side, letting a PLC or safety relay with a limited DC output drive a standard AC contactor coil. The module top-mounts directly onto a TeSys D contactor — no additional DIN-rail footprint needed. The built-in diode provides coil suppression, and an LED gives local status indication.
Control voltage limits span 33...60 V DC at 20 °C, so a nominal 48 V DC supply with typical ±10 % tolerance (43.2...52.8 V) sits comfortably inside the window. The module draws 15 mA from that supply. State 0 is guaranteed at ≤ 1.3 mA and < 4.8 V, which means most PLC digital outputs with a low-side leakage under 2 mA will reliably turn the module off. On the output side, the rated operational voltage covers 24...250 V AC. The insulation voltage is rated 250 V per IEC 60947-5-1, so the module is sized for standard 240 V control circuits.
Installation notes
Top-mounts onto the contactor — no DIN rail consumed. The IP2X finger protection (VDE 0106) is typical for enclosed panel gear; not rated for washdown. Heat dissipation is 0.6 W on the control circuit — negligible for panel thermal budgeting. Ambient operating range is -25...55 °C, storage -40...80 °C. The TH protective treatment per IEC 60068 covers tropicalized environments.
