What the 1400 A AC-1 rating means for your BOM line
The Schneider Electric TeSys F LC1F1400MD is a 3-pole contactor rated 1400 A in AC-1 duty (resistive load) at ≤40 °C. The coil is 220 V DC standard, with a hold-in draw of 10 W at 20 °C and an inrush peak of 2100 W. For a sourcing buyer checking fit: this is a plate-mount part (438 mm wide, 332 mm high, 238.6 mm deep), not a DIN-rail snap-on, so panel cutout and busbar planning are required.
AC-1 duty and the resistive load curve
Rated 1400 A in AC-1 (resistive load) — this is the contactor's full thermal current rating. The associated fuse is 1600 A gG at ≤440 V. Short-time withstand (Icw) is 8000 A for 10 s, 6000 A for 30 s, and 4500 A for 1 min at 40 °C. Power dissipation per pole is 150 W in AC-1, total 10 W coil hold-in. For a panel OEM: the 58 N.m power-circuit tightening torque and bar connection (busbar cross-section 100 x 5 mm) tell you this is a bolted-busbar installation, not a lug-and-cable job.
Integration — plate mount, bolted busbar, control wiring
Mounts on a plate (not DIN rail). Power circuit uses bolted bar connections — busbar cross-section 100 x 5 mm, two cables. Control circuit uses screw-clamp terminals accepting 1 to 4 mm² flexible or solid (with or without ferrule). Tightening torque: control circuit 1.2 N.m, power circuit 58 N.m. Storage temperature range -60 to 80 °C; operating ambient -5 to 40 °C. Overvoltage category III, rated impulse withstand 8 kV.
