The Schneider Electric LC1F185V5 is a TeSys F series 3-pole contactor rated for 275 A operational current in AC-3 duty (motor switching) and carries a 400 V AC 50 Hz control coil. It is designed for plate mounting and handles motor loads up to 90 kW at 380–400 V AC, 100 kW at 415 V, and 110 kW at 500 V or 660–690 V — figures that cover most European and Asian industrial voltages in one part.
The AC-1 rating (resistive load) will be higher, but for motor control, AC-3 is the spec to match to your motor FLA. The coil is 400 V AC 50 Hz only — not a dual-voltage or DC coil — so the control circuit must supply that exactly. Drop-out occurs between 0.35 and 0.55 Uc (140–220 V), which is a standard margin for AC coils.
Mounts on a plate (not DIN rail), so panel layout needs to account for bolted-down installation. Power connections accept bar (25 x 3 mm busbar), ring lugs up to 150 mm², or bolted connection — flexible for high-current cabling. Control circuit uses screw clamp terminals accepting 1–4 mm² flexible or solid. The front face achieves IP2X with shrouds fitted, which is basic finger protection for the panel interior. Dimensions are 174 mm high, 168.5 mm wide, 181 mm deep — a substantial frame that needs clearance for cable bending radius on 150 mm² conductors.
Certified to IEC 60947-4-1 and EN 60947-4-1 (the contactor standard for motor starters), plus IEC 60947-1 and JIS C8201-4-1. Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1, with overvoltage category III. The TH protective treatment indicates tropicalised coating for humid environments. Associated fuse ratings are 200 A aM or 315 A gG at ≤ 440 V — useful for coordination with upstream short-circuit protection.
