The Schneider Electric LC3F225F7 is a pre-wired TeSys F star delta starter, built as a single assembly for reduced-voltage starting of three-phase induction motors. It integrates three contactors (line, star, delta) with the necessary interlocking and timing, so you mount one unit instead of wiring three separate contactors and a timer. Rated for AC-3 utilisation category (motor starting and switching under load), it handles motor power from 100 kW at 220/230 V up to 220 kW at 440 V, all at 50/60 Hz. The 110 V AC control coil draws 805 VA inrush at 50 Hz, 970 VA at 60 Hz. The assembly carries 3 NO power poles per contactor (3 x 3P) and a full set of auxiliary contacts: 1 NC + 1 NO on the star contactor, 2 NC + 1 NO on the line contactor, and 1 NC + 2 NO on the delta contactor. That gives you feedback and interlocking without adding aux blocks.
The AC-3 motor power table is the primary selection guide. At 440 V it switches 220 kW; at 380/400 V it switches 200 kW. If your motor nameplate matches one of these voltage/power pairs, the LC3F225F7 is sized correctly. The rated breaking capacity is 1800 A (IEC 60947-4-1) and the rated making capacity is 2250 A — both well above the locked-rotor inrush of a 220 kW motor, so you get clean fault interruption without contact welding. Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1, with a VDE 0110 group C rating of 1500 V. That gives headroom for 690 V systems if your application allows, though the motor power table only goes to 440 V. The IP20 front face with shrouds (IEC 60529, VDE 0106) means finger-safe terminals once the shrouds are fitted — standard for enclosed panel mounting. Associated fuse protection is 315 A gG or 250 A aM up to 440 V. That's the short-circuit protection the contactor relies on for type 2 coordination. The power circuit accepts bolted connections, ring terminals up to 185 mm², or busbars 32 x 4 mm — choose the termination that matches your panel wiring practice. For a star delta starter that cycles every 20 seconds (starting time), that's well within the rating — the thermal limit is the motor heating, not the contactor.
Plate-mount only — no DIN rail option. The footprint is 20.7 in wide x 9.3 in deep x 4.3 in tall (525 x 235 x 110 mm). Power circuit bolts are M10; control circuit terminals are screw clamp, 1 to 4 mm² flexible or solid. Tightening torque is 35 N·m on the power side, 1.2 N·m on the control side. The unit is pre-wired internally — you only connect the incoming line, motor leads, and control voltage. The 110 V AC coil has a 0.85 to 1.1 Uc operating range and drops out between 0.35 and 0.55 Uc. Operating time is 20 to 35 ms closing, 7 to 15 ms opening.
Standards compliance covers IEC 60947-1, IEC 60947-4-1, EN 60947-1, EN 60947-4-1, and JIS C8201-4-1. Protective treatment is TH (tropicalized).
