The Schneider Electric LC3F225FE7 is a pre-wired TeSys F star delta starter, purpose-built for motor control applications. It integrates three contactors (KM1 star, KM2 line, KM3 delta) with the necessary interlocking and timing, so you don't have to wire and coordinate individual components. It delivers 200 kW at 380/400 V AC and 220 kW at 440 V AC, making it a fit for medium-to-large motor loads in pumps, compressors, and conveyors.
The 225 A rated operational current (Ie) at ≤ 440 V AC in AC-3 is the headline number for motor duty. AC-3 covers starting and switching off squirrel-cage motors under load, so this rating directly governs the motor FLA it can handle. The associated fuse recommendation of 315 A gG or 250 A aM at ≤ 440 V provides the short-circuit protection coordination — the starter clears faults up to 1800 A breaking capacity per IEC 60947-4-1, and makes 2250 A. The control circuit is 115 V AC 50/60 Hz, with an operational voltage range of 0.85 to 1.1 Uc and a drop-out range of 0.35 to 0.55 Uc, so it holds in during brownouts but drops reliably when the coil loses power. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1 and 1500 V per VDE 0110 Group C, giving headroom for 690 V systems.
Mounting is on a plate (not DIN rail), so plan for bolt-down installation. The power circuit uses M10 bolted connections or lugs/ring terminals up to 185 mm², with a tightening torque of 35 N.m. The control circuit uses screw clamp terminals accepting 1 to 4 mm² flexible or solid cable, torqued to 1.2 N.m. The auxiliary contact composition is already wired: 1 NC + 1 NO for the star contactor (KM1), 2 NC + 1 NO for the line contactor (KM2), and 1 NC + 2 NO for the delta contactor (KM3). That covers the standard interlocking and status feedback without adding external aux blocks.
