The Schneider TeSys F LC3F225V7A64 is a pre-wired star delta starter — a three-contactor assembly (KM1 star, KM2 line, KM3 delta) in one package, ready for plate mounting. It is designed for AC-3 motor starting duty: switching squirrel-cage motors during start-up and run. Rated operational current is 225 A at ≤440 V AC in AC-3 category, which means it handles the inrush and running current of motors up to that rating. Motor power capability reaches 200 kW at 380/400 V AC and 220 kW at 440 V AC. The control circuit runs on 400 V AC 50/60 Hz, with an operational voltage range of 0.85 to 1.1 Uc and a drop-out range of 0.35 to 0.55 Uc. Inrush power is 805 VA at 50 Hz and 970 VA at 60 Hz.
The 225 A rating is the continuous current the main power poles (3 x 3 NO) can carry in AC-3 duty at ≤55 °C. For a 200 kW motor at 400 V, this starter is correctly sized — the AC-3 utilisation category covers starting and plugging, not sustained overloads. The associated fuse recommendation is 315 A gG or 250 A aM at ≤440 V, which sets the short-circuit protection boundary. Rated breaking capacity is 1800 A and rated making capacity is 2250 A, both per IEC 60947-4-1. For high-duty-cycle applications (frequent starts on a conveyor or compressor), this sets the thermal and mechanical limit. The assembly includes built-in auxiliary contacts: 1 NC + 1 NO on the star contactor, 2 NC + 1 NO on the line contactor, and 1 NC + 2 NO on the delta contactor. This covers the interlocking and signalling needs for a standard star-delta sequence without adding separate aux blocks.
Mounts on a plate (not DIN rail), sized at 525 mm wide × 110 mm high × 235 mm deep. Power connections use bolted lugs or bars — M10 bolts, 185 mm² cable max, or a 32 × 4 mm busbar. Control wiring uses screw clamp terminals accepting 1 to 4 mm² flexible or solid wire, torqued to 1.2 N·m. Power circuit torque is 35 N·m. The TH protective treatment indicates tropicalisation for humid environments.
