MasterPact MTZ2 drawout breaker, 1000 A frame
The LV846191 is a Schneider Electric MasterPact MTZ2 drawout circuit breaker, 4-pole, rated 1000 A continuous at 40 °C. That 100 kA at 415 V AC is the rated ultimate breaking capacity (Icu); the service breaking capacity (Ics) is also 100 kA at both 220/415 V and 440 V AC, meaning after clearing a fault at full rating the breaker can be reclosed and continue to carry load — full discrimination is maintained.
Rated short-time withstand current (Icw) is 100 kA for 0.5 s and 1 s, 75 kA for 3 s — this is the thermal and mechanical stress the breaker can handle during a delayed trip coordination scheme. Category B selectivity means it's designed for full selectivity with downstream devices, critical for a distribution panel where you want only the faulted branch to open. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 1000 V AC, impulse withstand (Uimp) is 12 kV — the clearances and creepage are sized for 1000 V class switchgear, so it fits into a 1000 V bus system even though the operational voltage is 440 V. Mechanical durability is 15,000 cycles with periodic preventive maintenance; electrical durability is 10,000 cycles at 440 V AC at rated current per EN/IEC 60947-2 AC-23A, and 6,000 cycles at 440 V AC per EN/IEC 60947-3 AC-3. Maximum breaking time is 25 ms, closing response time 70 ms — fast enough for most coordination schemes.
Drawout mounting means the breaker chassis stays wired to the bus; the moving portion pulls out for inspection or swap without disturbing the power connections. Mounting support is rails or base plate. Connection pitch is 115 mm. Upside and downside connections are available in both front and rear configurations — rear connection is typical for switchgear lineups where the breaker slides into a cassette; front connection suits standalone enclosures. Neutral position is left.
Operating altitude is 0–2000 m without derating, 2000–5000 m with derating.
