What this breaker delivers
The Schneider Electric LV846540 is a MasterPact MTZ2 08 H10 fixed circuit breaker, 3-pole, rated 800 A at 40 °C. It carries a 50 kA ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) and 50 kA service breaking capacity (Ics) at 1150 V AC 50/60 Hz — both at the same level, which means the breaker can be reclosed immediately after clearing a fault at its full rating without derating for the next operation. That matters for critical power-distribution protection where a single fault event can't force a breaker swap. Category B selectivity (per EN/IEC 60947-2) means it coordinates with downstream breakers to isolate only the faulted branch, keeping the rest of the bus live. Rated insulation voltage is 1250 V AC, impulse withstand 12 kV — headroom for 1150 V systems with transient margins.
Fixed-mount chassis, 422 mm wide × 352 mm high × 300 mm deep. Connection pitch 115 mm. Mounts on rails or a base plate — typical for switchboard or MCC integration where the breaker stays in place and doesn't get drawn out for maintenance. Rear connections both top and bottom; upside and downside are both rear, so the cable entry and exit are on the same plane. IP30 front face — protected against tools and wires >2.5 mm, but not sealed against dust ingress; install in a clean, enclosed panel.

Mechanical durability: 25,000 cycles with periodic preventive maintenance. Electrical durability: 500 cycles at 1150 V AC, 50/60 Hz per EN/IEC 60947-2. Maximum breaking time 25 ms, closing response 70 ms — fast enough to limit arc energy in a fault. Altitude: full rating up to 2000 m, derated above that to 5000 m.
