The LV848498WW is a Schneider Electric MicroLogic 2.0 Xi electronic control unit for MasterPacT air circuit breakers. It is a wired-control device with an LCD display (128 x 96 pixels) and provides equipment protection, monitoring, and control for distribution networks at 50/60 Hz. The trip unit offers LI protection — long-time overload (ANSI 49) and instantaneous short-circuit (ANSI 50) — with adjustable long-time delay in 0.5 s steps and electronic thermal memory. It is rated for operational voltages up to 690 V AC (+/- 10 %).
Fit and mounting — what the drawout form factor means for your panel
This control unit is a drawout-mounted module, meaning it plugs into the MasterPacT breaker cradle and can be removed without disturbing the main power wiring — useful for panel access, retrofit, or swap-out during a line changeover. Pole configurations supported are 3P 3d, 4P 3d, 4P 3d + N/2, 4P 4d, and 4P 3d + OSN, with neutral protection settings selectable per the configuration. Trip unit ratings cover a wide band from 400 A through 6300 A, so the same control unit board can serve multiple breaker frame sizes with the appropriate sensor.
The LV848498WW integrates a power meter measuring current (I1, I2, I3, Iavg, IN RMS, Ig RMS), voltage (phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral), active/reactive/apparent power and energy, power factor, frequency, THD, and unbalance. Accuracy is Class 0.5 for voltage unbalance, Class 1 for active energy, and Class 2 for THD(V). For MTZ1 frames, current accuracy is +/- 0.5 % from 40 to 1600 x 1.2 A. Measurement voltage range is 208...828 V AC phase-to-phase, 120...480 V AC phase-to-neutral, with a frequency measurement range of 40...70 Hz. The measurement category is IV per IEC 61010-2-30, suitable for utility-side metering at the service entrance.
Compliance and environmental — what documentation supports qualification
The control unit complies with EN/IEC 60947-2 (circuit-breakers), EN/IEC 60092-202 (marine), EN/IEC 60947-1, EN/IEC 60255-1 (measuring relays), and EN/IEC 61010-1 (safety). EMC immunity covers electrostatic discharge, electromagnetic fields, fast transients, surge (1.2/50 µs), conducted RF, and conducted/radiated emissions Class A per CISPR 22. Overvoltage category IV per IEC 61010-1. Relative humidity rating is 95 % at 55 °C per IEC 60068-2-30. Operating altitude is up to 5000 m with voltage derating to 560 V AC. Note: the unit is not approved for wet locations per IEC 61010-1.
