The LX0FL005 is a TeSys F contactor coil from Schneider Electric, designed as the replaceable actuation coil for TeSys F contactors. It operates on a 48 V AC/DC control circuit, accepting AC from 50 to 400 Hz or DC standard supply. The coil is the service part that makes the contactor pull in and drop out, so if a contactor in the field stops engaging or drops out erratically, this is the component to swap before replacing the whole contactor assembly.
The unlatching operating time is 50 to 100 ms, and the latching time is 40 to 80 ms — this timing governs how fast the contactor closes and opens, which matters for coordinating with other devices in a motor start circuit. The maximum operating rate is 120 cycles per hour at 104 °F (40 °C), so it's not intended for high-speed jogging or rapid cycling applications; exceeding that rate will overheat the coil. Mechanical durability is rated at 1 million cycles, which is the expected life of the coil mechanism under normal switching conditions before wear-out.
Electrical characteristics for the panel
The coil has an average resistance of 0.87 Ohm in the latching state and 204 Ohm in the unlatching state, both measured at 68 °F (20 °C). The latching resistance is the holding current path once the contactor is sealed in; the unlatching resistance is the initial pull-in circuit. Control circuit voltage limits are 0.85 to 1.1 times Uc for both latching and unlatching, meaning the coil will reliably operate between about 40.8 V and 52.8 V on a 48 V nominal supply. Below that range, the contactor may chatter or fail to pick; above it risks coil burnout.
