What this coil fits and why the VA matters
The LX1D2U7 is a replacement coil for TeSys D contactors rated 9 through 18 A — the LC1D09 through LC1D18 frame sizes. It pulls 70 VA inrush at pickup (cos φ 0.75) and settles to 8 VA sealed (cos φ 0.3). That inrush-to-hold ratio is typical for AC-operated contactor coils; the control transformer or PLC output driving it must supply the 70 VA peak without voltage sag, or the contactor may chatter on pull-in. Coil resistance measures 645 Ω at 20 °C, and the closed-circuit inductance is 25 H — the high inductance after the armature seats explains the low hold-in VA.
Obsolete — sourcing path
Schneider has marked the LX1D2U7 as obsolete. No official successor order code is listed on the manufacturer record. The coil is available through independent surplus and new-old-stock channels; quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ. For a panel with an existing TeSys D contactor needing a coil swap, the LX1D2U7 is the direct fit — same mechanical interface, same terminal layout. No pin-compatible alternative from Schneider has been published for this voltage variant.
