This is critical for ensuring the contactor does not chatter or fail to close on a marginal supply. The inrush figure governs the sizing of the control transformer and any series protection — a transformer rated for the hold-in VA alone will saturate on the inrush peak. Heat dissipation is 12...16 W at 50 Hz, which must be considered in enclosed panel thermal calculations. Operating time is 23...35 ms closing and 5...15 ms opening, with a maximum operating rate of 2400 cycles per hour at 55 °C.
Coil technology and integration notes
The coil is supplied without a built-in suppressor module. For applications with inductive load switching or where the coil is driven by a PLC output or solid-state relay, an external RC snubber or varistor across the coil terminals is recommended to limit voltage transients and extend the life of the driving device. The average resistance is 3.73 Ω at 20 °C, and the inductance of the closed circuit is 0.49 H.
