It operates on 36 V AC at 50 Hz, drawing 805 VA inrush at cos φ 0.3 and 55 VA holding power under the same conditions. The coil has no built-in suppressor module, so external suppression (RC snubber or varistor) must be added across the coil terminals if the control circuit requires it — common practice on PLC-driven panels to protect solid-state outputs from inductive kickback.
Closing time is 20 to 35 ms, opening time 7 to 15 ms — fast enough for most motor-starting and switching applications, but not for precision timing circuits. The coil dissipates 18 to 24 W at 50 Hz, which adds to the enclosure's thermal load; if the contactor is in a sealed panel with other heat sources, derating or forced ventilation may be needed. Control circuit voltage limits are specified: dropout occurs between 0.35 and 0.55 Uc (12.6 to 19.8 V), and the coil picks up reliably between 0.85 and 1.1 Uc (30.6 to 39.6 V) at 55 °C. This means a 36 V AC supply must stay within that band under load — a sagging transformer secondary below 30.6 V will cause the contactor to drop out. The coil's DC resistance is 0.37 Ω at 20 °C, and closed-circuit inductance is 0.07 H.
Deployment context
The 36 V AC control voltage is typical for panels with a separate control transformer stepping down from 400 V or 480 V line power. Because the coil lacks a built-in suppressor, panel builders should plan for an external RC network or diode across the coil terminals when the contactor is driven by a PLC or solid-state relay output.
