The LX1FG850 is a TeSys F contactor coil — the solenoid that pulls in the main power contacts on a TeSys F contactor. It's rated for 1000 V AC 60 Hz control circuits, with an inrush of 970 VA at 60 Hz and a hold-in draw of 66 VA. Operating time runs 20 to 35 ms closing, 7 to 15 ms opening.
The 1000 V AC 60 Hz control voltage is specific — this isn't a 24 VDC or 120 V coil. It's built for high-voltage AC control schemes, common in older or heavy industrial installations. The 18 to 24 W heat dissipation at 60 Hz means the coil generates noticeable heat; panel ventilation or spacing from heat-sensitive components matters. Drop-out voltage range is 0.35 to 0.55 Uc, operational range 0.85 to 1.1 Uc at 55 °C — so it holds in reliably down to 850 V AC and drops out below 550 V AC. That's a wide hysteresis, which helps prevent chatter on a sagging line.
Integration notes
This coil is a direct replacement for the TeSys F contactor range. No built-in suppressor module — if your circuit needs flyback suppression (and it should on a 1000 V AC coil driving an inductive load), you'll add an external RC snubber or varistor across the coil terminals. The average resistance is 249 ohms at 20 °C, inductance of the closed circuit is 36.6 H — that's a high inductance, so the flyback voltage spike on de-energization is substantial. Suppression isn't optional if you're switching it with a PLC output or a solid-state relay.
