Coil voltage and what it means for your panel
The LX1G4SLSEN is the control coil module for TeSys Giga LC1G400-500/4P contactors, accepting 200-500 V AC/DC at 50/60 Hz — a wide-range coil that covers most global control voltages from 208 V to 480 V without needing a transformer tap change. Built-in bidirectional peak limiting electronics handle the inrush (300 W / 535 VA) and hold-in (8.6 W / 15.4 VA) power, so the PLC or relay output driving this coil sees a controlled load — no external varistor or RC snubber needed across the coil terminals.
Switching speed and endurance for high-cycle lines
Opening time is 20-35 ms, closing time 40-55 ms — fast enough for most motor start/stop sequences but not so fast that contact bounce becomes a problem on the main poles. Rated for 5 million mechanical cycles and a maximum operating rate of 600 cycles per minute at 60 °C ambient — this coil keeps up with high-speed pick-and-place or indexing conveyors without derating.
Standards and environmental tolerance
Certified to EN/IEC 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1A, and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1 — the coil meets the full contactor standard, not just a component-level listing, so the panel builder gets a single UL listing for the contactor assembly. Pollution degree 3 per IEC 60947-1 means it tolerates conductive dust and humidity typical in industrial enclosures without conformal coating. IP20 finger-safe terminals with push-in wiring accept 0.2-2.5 mm² solid or stranded with ferrule. Operates from -25 °C to 60 °C ambient and stores from -60 °C to 80 °C. Altitude rating is 3000 m without derating, 5000 m with derating — fine for most installations outside high-altitude mining.
