The LX9FH0482 is a specific replacement coil for the TeSys F contactor range, designed for 48 V AC control circuits at 40...400 Hz with low-hold-power consumption. It is not a standalone contactor — it replaces the coil assembly inside a TeSys F frame, so the BOM line should reference the parent contactor order code, not this coil alone.
Rated control voltage is 48 V AC across 40...400 Hz, with operational limits of 0.85...1.1 Uc at 131 °F (55 °C) and drop-out between 0.35...0.55 Uc. That means the coil pulls in reliably down to about 40.8 V and drops out between 16.8 and 26.4 V — important for brownout ride-through or low-voltage release logic in the panel. Opening time is 25 ms, closing time is 45 ms. For a contactor coil these are the mechanical stroke times; the actual arc extinction depends on the contactor's main poles. The coil draws 560...660 VA inrush and settles to 8...10 VA holding, so the control transformer must be sized for the inrush peak, not the steady-state figure. That rate suits frequent start-stop applications like conveyor indexing or compressor cycling, but thermal derating applies above 55 °C ambient.
Integration Notes for Panel Builders
This coil has no built-in suppressor module. For AC control circuits, an external RC snubber or varistor across the coil terminals is recommended to limit switching transients that could couple into the PLC output or adjacent electronics. The coil resistance measures 2.96 Ω inrush and 72 Ω holding at 68 °F (20 °C) — useful for verifying coil integrity with an ohmmeter before installation. Heat dissipation runs 8.4...10.4 W during holding. In a densely populated TeSys F panel, that heat adds up — ensure adequate ventilation or forced cooling if multiple coils are energized continuously in a confined enclosure.
