DC-rated miniature circuit-breaker for distribution panels
The MGN61804 is a 1-pole DC miniature circuit-breaker from the Schneider Electric Multi9 C60H-DC series, rated 16 A with a B tripping curve. The breaking capacity is 20 kA Icu at 110 V DC, 10 kA at 220 V DC, and 6 kA at 250 V DC — all per EN/IEC 60947-2. For a 220 V DC string (common in solar or battery banks), the 10 kA rating still covers most distribution-level faults. The thermal-magnetic trip unit uses a B curve with a magnetic threshold of 5.5 x In ± 20 % DC. That is a relatively low magnetic pickup — it will trip on moderate overloads faster than a C or D curve, which matters when protecting sensitive DC loads or long cable runs where fault current may be limited.
For a procurement team freezing a panel design, this part is a straight drop-in: the Multi9 C60H-DC family is a standard catalogue line, so lead times and pricing are predictable.
Integration and wiring details
Mounting is clip-on DIN rail (EN 60715). Tightening torque is 2.5 N.m. Strip length is 14 mm. The breaker is padlockable in the OFF position, which satisfies lockout/tagout requirements during panel maintenance. The ON/OFF indicator gives a visual confirmation of contact position — useful when the toggle handle is not visible through a closed door.
The MGN61804 is certified to EN/IEC 60947-2 for DC applications, pollution degree 3 (industrial environment with conductive pollution), and tropicalisation class 2 per IEC 60068-2.
