DC-rated miniature circuit-breaker for distribution
The MGN61813 is a Multi9 C60H-DC miniature circuit-breaker from Schneider Electric, designed for DC distribution networks. It is a 2-pole unit rated at 8 A (at 50 °C) with a B curve magnetic tripping limit of 5.5 x In +/- 20 % DC — meaning it trips instantaneously on short-circuit currents roughly between 36 A and 53 A, protecting sensitive DC loads like control circuits and instrumentation. Breaking capacity is 20 kA Icu at 220 V DC, 20 kA at 250 V DC, 10 kA at 440 V DC, and 6 kA at 500 V DC, all per EN/IEC 60947-2. That covers most industrial DC bus voltages up to 500 V, with the 20 kA rating at 220/250 V handling high-fault scenarios in telecom or solar combiner boxes.
Clip-on mounting to DIN rail (EN 60715), 36 mm wide (4 x 9 mm pitches), 81 mm high, 73 mm deep. Occupies two standard modular slots — fits existing Multi9 distribution boards without re-spacing. IP20 finger-safe terminals; IP40 in modular enclosure. Tunnel-type terminals accept 1…25 mm² rigid stranded (AWG 18…4) or 1…16 mm² flexible, with or without ferrule. Dual and triple cable entries supported for daisy-chaining. Tightening torque 2.5 N·m; strip length 14 mm.
Rated insulation voltage (Ui) 500 V DC, operational voltage (Ue) selectable 220/250/440/500 V DC. Suitability for isolation confirmed per EN/IEC 60947-2 — can be used as a disconnecting means in DC circuits. Pollution degree 3 (industrial environment, not just clean panel). Thermal-magnetic trip unit, Category A (no intentional short-time delay). Mechanical durability 20,000 cycles, electrical durability 3,000 cycles at L/R = 2 ms. Padlockable toggle for lockout/tagout. ON/OFF indication via contact position indicator.
