DC-rated miniature circuit breaker for distribution panels
The MGN61841 is a Schneider Electric Multi9 C60H-DC miniature circuit breaker rated 1 A at 50 °C per EN/IEC 60947-2, with a C curve magnetic trip threshold of 8.5 x In ±20 % DC. It breaks up to 20 kA at 250 V DC and 10 kA at 440 V DC, making it suitable for DC distribution sub-circuits where fault currents can reach those levels. The 2-pole design isolates both conductors, and the clip-on mounting snaps onto standard DIN rail inside a panel enclosure.
Breaking capacity and selectivity in DC systems
Unlike AC-rated MCBs that derate heavily on DC, the C60H-DC is purpose-built for DC networks. At 250 V DC it delivers 20 kA Icu; at 440 V DC it still holds 10 kA. For a 500 V DC bus the rating drops to 6 kA. That spread lets an integrator coordinate downstream loads without oversizing the branch breaker — the 1 A C curve clears fast on a short circuit while the upstream device handles the full fault.
Mounting and wiring integration
Tunnel terminals accept up to 25 mm² rigid stranded or 16 mm² flexible; strip length 14 mm, torque to 2.5 N·m. The IP20 finger-safe front and IP40 modular enclosure suit enclosed panel builds. Padlockable toggle provides local lockout-tagout without removing the breaker.
