DC-rated miniature circuit breaker for distribution panels
It is a 2-pole thermal-magnetic breaker rated at 40 A at 50 °C (EN/IEC 60947-2), with a C curve that trips magnetically at 8.5 x In ±20% DC. The breaking capacity reaches 20 kA Icu at 220 V DC and 250 V DC, 10 kA at 440 V DC, and 6 kA at 500 V DC — covering most common DC distribution voltages in industrial control panels and telecom plants. The grey modular enclosure carries IP20 (terminals) and IP40 (enclosure) protection, suitable for clean indoor panel environments.
The C curve (8.5 x In magnetic trip) means the breaker holds through moderate inrush — typical for DC motor starters, solenoid banks, or capacitive loads — but clears fast on hard shorts. At 440 V DC the interrupting rating drops to 10 kA, and at 500 V DC to 6 kA — so on a 500 V DC system, the available fault current must be verified not to exceed 6 kA. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 500 V DC, and the breaker is certified for isolation (suitability for isolation: Yes per EN/IEC 60947-2). That means it can be used as a disconnecting means in a DC circuit, provided the system voltage does not exceed 500 V DC.
