DC miniature circuit breaker for 3 A DC branch circuits
The Schneider Electric MGN61860 is a 1-pole DC miniature circuit breaker from the Multi9 C60H-DC series, rated 3 A at 50 °C per EN/IEC 60947-2. It is designed for DC distribution networks up to 250 V DC, with a K-curve magnetic trip threshold of 12 x In (±20 %) that suits loads with moderate inrush — think DC motor drives, solenoid valves, or control transformers on a DC bus. Breaking capacity is 20 kA Icu at 110 V DC, 10 kA at 220 V DC, and 6 kA at 250 V DC — all per EN/IEC 60947-2.
K curve and DC application
The K curve (12 x In magnetic trip) sits between the B and C curves in sensitivity. It is specified for DC circuits where the load draws a moderate inrush — for example, a DC power supply feeding a PLC rack or a small DC motor. The 3 A rating at 50 °C means the breaker carries 3 A continuously without nuisance tripping; above that, the thermal element responds to sustained overloads. The toggle switch provides local ON/OFF indication and is padlockable for lockout/tagout procedures.
