DC-rated miniature circuit breaker for distribution panels
The Schneider Electric MGN61863 is a Multi9 C60H-DC miniature circuit breaker, 1-pole, rated 6 A at 50 °C per EN/IEC 60947-2. It's built for DC networks — 250 V DC max operational voltage, with a breaking capacity of 20 kA Icu at 110 V DC, 10 kA at 220 V DC, and 6 kA at 250 V DC. The K-curve magnetic trip triggers at 12 x In (±20 %), which suits DC loads with moderate inrush — think solenoids, contactor coils, or control transformers in a 24 V or 110 V DC distribution panel. Clip it onto a DIN rail (18 mm per pole, 2 pitches wide) and terminate with tunnel-type terminals accepting up to 25 mm² rigid stranded. The IP20 finger-safe front and IP40 modular enclosure keep it panel-ready. Padlockable toggle for lockout/tagout.
The K-curve (12 x In magnetic trip) is the key difference from a B-curve or C-curve: it allows higher inrush without nuisance trips, which is why DC control circuits and solenoid loads spec K-curve.
Integration into a DC panel
The tunnel terminals accept a wide range of conductors: 1–25 mm² rigid stranded, 1–16 mm² flexible, and up to 3 x 1 mm² flexible stranded for daisy-chaining. Strip length is 14 mm; torque to 2.5 N.m. The ON/OFF indicator gives local visual status. Tropicalisation class 2 per IEC 60068-2 means it handles humidity up to 95 % at 55 °C — relevant for outdoor enclosures or washdown areas.
