Performance envelope — speed, torque, and power across supply voltages
This motor's output depends on the supply voltage and phase configuration. On three-phase 400 V it delivers 1500 rpm nominal speed, 10.6 Nm nominal torque, and 1670 W nominal output power. On three-phase 480 V the speed rises to 1800 rpm with 10.4 Nm torque and 1960 W output. Single-phase operation is possible but derated: 115 V single-phase yields 375 rpm, 11 Nm torque, 430 W; 230 V single-phase gives 750 rpm, 10.95 Nm, 860 W. The continuous stall torque is 11.1 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range, and peak stall torque reaches 27 Nm. Continuous power rating is 1700 W — this is the thermal limit under natural convection cooling (no forced ventilation). The maximum mechanical speed is 4000 rpm, above the nominal speeds, so the motor can be over-sped if the drive and load allow.
Encoder and feedback — absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface
The encoder is an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface type. This protocol provides position and speed feedback over a single cable pair, with multiturn count retained through power cycles — no homing routine needed on restart. Drive compatibility is limited to drives that support Hiperface; confirm your drive's feedback interface before specifying. The torque constant is 2.78 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the back-EMF constant is 193 V/krpm at 20 °C. These values are needed for drive tuning and for calculating the DC-bus voltage headroom at high speed.
Mechanical interface — flange, shaft, and mounting dimensions
The motor flange size is 140 mm (5.5 in) with a centring collar diameter of 130 mm (5.1 in) and a centring collar depth of 3.5 mm (0.1 in). Mounting holes are 11 mm diameter on the flange. This is an international standard flange — compatible with common gearbox and machine interfaces. The shaft is 24 mm diameter, 50 mm length, with an 8 mm keyway and parallel key. Maximum radial force is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 300 N. These limits govern bearing life and mounting stiffness — overshoot them and the bearing race spalls.
Environmental protection and cooling
The IP rating depends on the shaft seal configuration. Without the shaft seal ring, the shaft bushing is IP54 — suitable for dry indoor environments with some dust ingress protection. With the shaft seal ring fitted, the motor achieves IP65 — washdown-rated, suitable for food-and-bev lines or wet machining areas. The motor body itself is IP65-rated. Cooling is by natural convection — no fan, no forced air. The continuous power and torque ratings assume free airflow around the motor body; mounting in a confined space or against a heat source will require derating.
Electrical parameters for drive tuning
Stator resistance is 5.3 Ω, stator inductance is 88.55 mH. These values set the electrical time constant and influence the drive's current-loop tuning. The continuous stall current is 4 A; the maximum RMS current is 10.8 A — the drive must be sized to supply at least this peak current for acceleration and peak torque events. The motor has 5 poles (10-pole equivalent on the rotor). The copper hot-spot temperature limit is 130 °C — the drive's thermal model should be configured to protect the winding at this threshold.
Connection and cabling
The electrical connection is available as either a straight connector or a rotatable right-angled connector. The rotatable option helps route the cable in tight cabinets where a straight connector would interfere with the enclosure wall or adjacent components.
