The XS112BLPBL2 is a shielded M12 threaded inductive proximity sensor from the Telemecanique XS1 series. It detects ferrous targets at 2 mm, switching a PNP normally-closed output at 12-24V DC up to 200 mA. The brass barrel, nickel-plated body and IP67 / NEMA 4X rating make it suitable for washdown or oily environments on machine tools, conveyors, and packaging lines.
The 2 mm shielded sensing face means the sensor detects only when the target is within that gap — flush mounting in steel is fine, but the effective range drops to roughly 70% in a steel panel. The M12 threaded barrel fits a standard 12 mm mounting hole; the 44 mm overall length leaves room in tight panels. Prewired 2 m bare-wire cable saves one junction box versus a connector variant, but the 3-wire PNP NC output means the load sees +24V when the target is absent — verify your PLC input card sinks PNP signals. The 200 mA load current covers most PLC digital inputs and small relays directly. Supply voltage tolerance 12-24V DC means it runs on a 24V nominal bus without a regulator, but check your ripple — inductive sensors can misbehave below 10V at the terminals.
