15 m through-beam receiver for long-range detection
The XUB2BPBNL2R is a tubular through-beam photoelectric receiver from the Schneider Electric XUB series, designed to work with a separate emitter to create a 15 m sensing beam. This range suits applications like conveyor belt monitoring, automated warehouse aisle detection, or long-distance object presence verification where a single housing won't fit both emitter and receiver. The 1 ms response time (on/off) means it can detect objects moving at line speed without missing pulses — a 15 m beam at 1 ms gives the downstream PLC enough time to react before the next part arrives.
IP67 brass barrel for washdown and outdoor duty
Rated IP67 and NEMA 4X/12, the nickel-plated brass housing withstands hose-down cleaning, condensation, and dust ingress common in food processing, beverage lines, or outdoor material handling. The threaded 18 mm barrel mounts through a standard bracket or drilled hole with the included nut. The 2 m PVC cable exits the rear — plan cable routing to avoid sharp bends at the gland entry, as the cable is the wet-end barrier, not the housing thread.
PNP NC output and switching behaviour
Output is PNP normally-closed (NC), meaning the signal line is high when the beam is uninterrupted and goes low when the beam is broken. This fail-safe configuration is standard for safety-related presence detection — a broken wire or power loss reads as a blocked beam. Maximum load current is 100 mA at 12-24 VDC, sufficient to drive a PLC input module directly without an interposing relay. The 500 Hz switching frequency supports fast counting applications up to 500 objects per second, provided the beam break duration exceeds the 1 ms response time.
