Integrator's spec recap
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1063-2ED36-0BF0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 16 A continuous current at up to 55 °C ambient, with a TM220 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Its interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V, 76 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 500 V or 690 V — which means it handles high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream. The TM220 release is fixed, not adjustable, so the trip curve is set at the factory; verify coordination with downstream devices before panel build. The breaker includes an undervoltage release (UVR) as the auxiliary release, plus one auxiliary switch and one trip alarm switch (HQ version). No communication function or ground fault monitoring is built in. The front face carries IP40 protection — fine for a dry indoor panel, but not for washdown areas.
Panel fit and mounting
At 130 mm tall and 3 in wide, this MCCB fits standard 3-pole SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts and busbar systems. The IP40 front means it's rated for finger-safe touch protection in a closed enclosure. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. No derating needed up to 55 °C — the 16 A rating holds flat — then drops to 15 A at 60 °C and above.
