The 6ES7143-5AH00-0BA0 is an ET 200AL slice that snaps onto the 45 mm wide backplane, 159 mm tall, 40 mm deep. It carries 8 digital outputs (DQ) rated 24 V DC, 1.4 A max per output, with the total encoder supply current capped at 0.7 A per load voltage group — the two load groups isolate 8 outputs each, so a short on group 1 doesn't pull down group 2. The M8, 4-pin, shielded ET-Connection handles the field wiring; unshielded cable runs up to 30 m are allowed, but for the encoder signals keep it under 30 m to avoid noise coupling into the 32-bit counter.
What the integrated counter and DI mean for the line
This module packs 2 digital inputs (DI) and a 32-bit counter that counts up to 4 kHz on the encoder supply (48 Ω to 4 kΩ load range) — it's designed for a single-axis incremental encoder feedback directly on the remote I/O slice, saving a separate counter module. The DI thresholds are -3 to +5 V for signal "0" and +11 to +30 V for signal "1", with a typical 3 mA draw at signal "1" — it works with standard 24 V proximity sensors (2-wire supported) and the 0.05 ms min switching time catches fast edges from a bottle sensor or encoder pulse train. For lamp loads, the max switching frequency is 1 Hz — don't use this to strobe indicator lamps; the 20 ms max transition time (0-to-1 and 1-to-0) is fine for solenoid valves and contactor coils on a filling line.
