What this part is and what it does
The TM310MM25ECT16T is a Modicon M310 compact PLC from Schneider Electric with 16 discrete I/O — 8 inputs (sink/source, IEC 61131-2 type 3) and 8 source transistor outputs. Eight of the inputs are high-speed counters rated at 200 kHz (A/B, pulse/direction, or single-phase). The fast outputs (Q0...Q7) turn off in ≤1 µs, so this controller handles encoder feedback or cut-off signals without an external module. EtherCAT cycle time is 1 ms — deterministic data exchange for coordinated motion or fast sensor loops. The built-in real-time clock holds time across power loss for 2 years at 25 °C (CR2032 optional backup extends it to 5 years). User memory: 16 MB RAM plus 512 KB flash for application and data.
