MCCB for line protection — 100 A, 121 kA SCCR
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED32-0AC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying a continuous current Iu of 100 A across ambient temperatures from 40 °C through 50 °C before any derating kicks in. At 55 °C it still holds 96 A, and at 70 °C it delivers 90 A — so for most panel environments below 50 °C, the full 100 A rating is available without headroom calculations. The interrupting ratings are the standout here — 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V. That 121 kA figure at 240 V means this breaker handles high-fault conditions common on large transformer secondaries or busway-fed panels without needing a current-limiting upstream device. The 75.6 kA at 415 V covers most European industrial distribution.
TM210 release and auxiliary contacts
The overcurrent release is the TM210 thermal-magnetic type — fixed thermal pickup, magnetic trip adjustable across the standard range. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no ground-fault monitoring on this variant. It ships with 2 auxiliary switches, HQ (high-qualified) contacts rated for control-circuit reliability. The latching endurance is rated at 15 000 mechanical operations. This is a line-protection version (not motor-protection), so it's sized for feeder and distribution circuits rather than individual motor starts. The IP40 front protection is standard for panel-mounted breakers — installed in an enclosure, not open-air.
Panel fit — dimensions and mounting
At 76.2 mm wide (roughly 3 inches), 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep, this breaker fits standard panel-mount cutouts for 100 A frame MCCBs. The 70 mm depth is shallow enough to clear most backpanel wiring troughs and gland plates without standoffs.
