Line protection MCCB with thermal-magnetic release
The Siemens 3VA1063-2ED36-0KC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection, carrying a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release and an integrated shunt trip (STL). The rated continuous current Iu holds at 63 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 60.48 A at 55 °C and 56.7 A at 70 °C — the thermal curve governs the actual ampacity in a warm panel, not the 63 A nameplate. Breaking capacity runs 52.5 kA at 240 V, 32 kA at 415 V, 13.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. At 415 V the 32 kA figure covers most European industrial distribution panels; the 690 V rating of 7.5 kA is the limiting case for 690 V line-side faults.
Dimensions and panel fit
The 3VA1063-2ED36-0KC0 measures 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, and 70 mm deep. The 76.2 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint on DIN rail or screw-mount backplate. IP40 on the front means the breaker face is protected against solid objects over 1 mm but not sealed against moisture — suitable for enclosed distribution boards, not washdown environments.
Auxiliary and trip configuration
Factory-fitted with 2 auxiliary switches HQ (high-quantity switching capacity) and a shunt trip release (STL). The shunt trip allows remote tripping via a control voltage — useful for emergency-stop circuits or supervisory shutdown. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module, and no phase-failure detection are included on this variant. The integrated auxiliary trip order code is 3VA9688-0BL33.
